Description: Getting rid of pointless rules
Expires 2:46:16 15th January 2004 GMT
The only objective of the game should be getting money. All rules that are not relating to getting money and are not about issues with gameplay (such as rules about player activity, etc.) should be either abolished or labelled useless. If they are labelled useless, this should contribute to making them easier to abolish.

Comments:- I know this is much too vague. But it seems that we've made too many things part of the game state, so we'll have a very hard time making a good game out of it. Any other ideas on how to improve this? Or does no one agree with me on this? --Olena
- But what does this proposal _actually do_? --Alex
- But what does this proposal _actually do_? --Alex
- I only said that once, silly page.
- Oh no, now I see that you managed to say something before me. Anyway I recommend not making this a proposal but instead discussing it via the mailing list until you've got something definite in mind. --Alex
- Hmm, I suppose I agree that that'd be more sensible. But proposals tend to get noticed more. I might as well not contribute to proposal inflation, I suppose :P --Olena
P.S. But what does everyone actually think of what I said? - I don't agree that the game is too complex, but I support cleaning up the ruleset because Olena wants to. If the objective of the game is to make money, we obviously need some more interesting ways to make money. --Kelly
- I'm voting against this in order to prevent it from passing. I don't particularly want the game to become less complicated but won't oppose it. --Robert
- Hasn't this already failed? --Alex
- As for what I think: I don't think the game is too complicated now. There are rules we haven't used much, like the ones mentioned in proposal RemoveHeater, say, and I wouldn't oppose getting rid of them, but it would be more interesting if they were made to have a point. I also think it's too restrictive for the game to have one sole objective. --Alex
- I now believe that, according to rule 6, if this proposal were to pass nothing would happen because it doesn't actually specify any change to the gamestate. --Alex
