Description: defines the point of the game
Refreshed: 18:02:05 16th November 2003 GMT by Alex.
Expires 18:02:05 2nd December 2003 GMT
New Rule: Point
[not to be confused with vertex]
Colour: #FF2222, because that is Olena's colour
*
The point of the game is a map from the set of players to the set of positive integers. The point is in the gamestate.
The expression "incrementing a player" may be used to refer to incrementing a player's image under the point.
*
The point is the map that sends each player to 1.
It is intended that the point be nondecreasing as a function of time. Also, it should be difficult for a player to increase eir image under the point by more than, say, three per week.
Finally, the proposer remarks that this proposal is an old spin on an old idea.
Votes:
- Alex voted with 1/3
- Robert voted with 3/4
Comments:- Alternatively the domain of the point could be the set of pairs of players (recommended), or perhaps even the set of nonempty sets of players.
- --Robert
- Olena, it would still be interesting to see what you consider a point to the game. --Alex
- I'm not sure what the point is. I was thinking it could gradually develop as we make rules, but it seems like our rules have been sorta random and haven't really helped. --Olena
- 1/3
- That was supposed to be a vote.
- I'd prefer to see some of the accessories to this idea before I vote. (such as how does one increment the point, what is the point of it all - pardon the pun...)
- 1. For one possibility see the next proposal (Ferret). 2. Each player would hopefully be enticed to try to increase their image under point, or perhaps to be in the inverse image of max(range(point)). --Robert
