"To Know What is to Come, One Must Know What Has Been"
I. Early times (1000 BE -1 BE)
The first recorded civilization takes the form of the “Chained Cities” that cropped up on the banks of the Gnikramazon River. The fertilile plains that surround the juction of the branches of the Gniramazon created the perfect environment for agrarian developement. The river system provided a source of travel and communication for these early city-states. Individual city-states begin to form “sympets” - recipracal, beneficial relationships between individual cities. The regions of the Gnikramazon river soon divided up into specialized districts. To the North near the headwaters, Lauferus produced metal work such as fine swords. The forest region of Howet to the Southwest produced pottery, fruits and lumber. Chasento, near the No Man’s Land, was responsible for the import of spices to the other regions. Prevasatos production of medicines allowed the region to be deeply depend upon. Clarkanad, located in the central region of the continent, were noted as the finest metal workers creating metaleware along with mining flint for fire making needs. Platzia, to the south, raised the bulk of crops and food stocks for the rest of the continent. Shinolah (also know as Shlianola) to the East created the most valuable substance of all - karma. Experimenting with irragation, Shinolah discovered mental connection with the waters they tried to control. These series of sympet districts created Lachaeton Uidel [La-kay-ton Wee-del] or the Republic of Chained Cities. The Lachaeton Uidel lasted nearly four hundred years operating under a joint coalition called the Order of the Brightest Star. Formed in 740 BE (Before the Empire), The Order consisted originally as a council of representatives from the six regions of Gnikrapon. It is during this era that karmic expansion took place. Other City-states wanted to not only share in Shinolan karmic devices but desired to produce them as well.
The Order lead by Douglas de Sackin formed the first unified empire of Gnikrapon.
In the year 256GY, the Order commanded Minister of Karmic Affairs Sven Svengali to begin encapsulating Shlianola's karmic forces so they could be monitored more regularily by the overseeing establishment of the Empire. The region of Shlianola, fed up with policies regulating its use of karmic powers, revolted against the Empire and declared its independence.
In 299GY in the midst of war and with encapsulation of all karmic forces almost complete, Sven Svengali unwillingly made a drastic maneuver that would unwittingly usher in a new age of peace. When attempting to use the encapsulated power to gain his way to the throne, he inadvertently manufactured his own downfall. Both The Order and the Empire of Shlianola, seeing the destructive power of concentrated karmic force, decided it was to dangerous for anyone man or organization to be in control of such power. Upon that revaltion, Shlianola was welcomed readily back into the Empire of Gnikrapon. Eight temples were then set up around the continent to monitor the eight known aspects of karma. Peace reigned in Gnikrapon.
King Douglas II assumed power in 956GY following the untimely death of his father, Richard the Exceedinly Benevolent. Though the youngest of all generations of preceeding emperors, 15 year old Douglas II set out to correct the saccarine path of his father.
VI. Reconstruction(997GY-to present)
Yet the short respite of past years has now evolved into a possible other period of strained relations. Since the discovery of the now infmous X-1 document, the reconstruction after the our the Dark Threat has taken side issue.
