- Proposal #28
- Proposed by Kwyjibo
- Rejected by a vote of 3-2.
I propose that people are able to work for a wage each week. The beginning wage will be $100 a week and will be paid at the end of the week. Consider this to be Sunday.
A player may increase their wage by taking University of Nomopoly courses for post-secondary education. The first year base courses cost $500 and will increase the person's wage to $300. This course will take 2 complete turns to learn and at that point the person will from then on receive a wage of $300 a week.
More Careers
Pre-requisite: base courses
Thief: A thief course costs $500 and takes 2 complete weeks to complete just like the base courses above. It allows a person to steal 5% of a player's money if another player occupies the same square as the current player (only once a turn). The thief also gets a wage of $400 a week and has a 1 in 10 chance of avoiding any reduction that occurs to his health.
Pre-requisite: base courses
Healer: A healer course costs $500 and takes 2 complete weeks to complete just like the base courses. It allows the player to gain 10 health each week (to a max of 100) at no cost. They also get a wage of $400 a week. Any player who occupies the same square as a healer or a square adjacent to a healer may request to be healed (maximum once per turn) and gain 10 health by paying $200 to the healer.
Pre-requisite: base courses
Warrior: A Warrior course costs $500 and takes 2 complete weeks to complete just like the base courses. A Warrior takes only half damage for all reductions in health. It also raises their wage to $350. It also allows the player to attack another player who is in the same square or adjacent to him, causing the target player to lose 10 health, maximum of once per update.
Pre-requisite: base courses
Politician: A politician course costs $1000 and takes 3 complete weeks to complete. It allows the player to have a wage of $450 a week and allows him the option to (once per week) give $200 to a randomly selected player. The money simply comes from nowhere and no one asks questions (just like real politics). It also allows the person to have a 1 in 10 chance of avoiding rent because of political immunity. They can also give out one gift item to a player of their choice each week at no cost to them. The gifts that a politician can give are a certificate of greatness, fake dimond, and get out of jail free card.
Also please feel free to add new careers to it if the rule passes.
All chance will be done randomly by the admin.
All wages are paid at the end of a week.
No 2 courses may be taken at the same time by the same player.
More courses and upgrades may be available in the future if rules are proposed to do so.
SORRY FOR MAKING MY RULE SO LONG BUT I REALLY LIKE IT.
- Comments: Sorry. Try again next week.
- Proposal #29
- Proposed by THE CHEESE
- Accepted by a vote of 5-0. Modified section 2 of rule XXIV.
Using anthrax against another player (not a creature) is a minor atrocity
- Comments: As soon as some hospitals appear, Anthrax shouldn't be too big of a deal.
- Proposal #30
- Proposed by ChocolateChip
- Accepted by a vote of 5-0. Modified sections 3 and 5 of rule XIX.
New Creature!
The Skunk: The Skunk will make one move per update, after all players have moved. The Skunk's move will consist of rolling two 3 sided dice, and moving "up" on the board by the amount shown on the first die, and "right" by the amount showing on the second die, wrapping around the board at the edges. Example: The Skunk is on Square 29. A roll of 2-3 would move him to Square 42 (up 2 squares to 49, and right 3 squares to 42). The Skunk is said to leave its initial square and land on its final square without "passing" any squares in between.
Whenever the Skunk lands on a square, one or more of the following effects will take place, depending on what building(s)/player(s)/object(s) are on the skunk's square:
Springboard: Two randomly selected players will have their locations swapped.
Hospital: All players will gain 20 health.
House: 7 new squares will be added on to the end of the board.
Store: Whichever player owns the least number of squares (one is selected randomly if tied) is given ownership of the lowest numbered unowned square on the board.
Corporate Headquarters: All players must pay "property tax", which is the sum of all squares owned by that player, in Nomopoly dollars.
Missile Silo: A randomly selected missle is created and fired at a randomly selected square within range of the Skunk.
Anti-Missile Battery: A randomly selected square on the board becomes polluted.
Blackjack: All players immediately jump to Blackjack, and any effects associated with landing there take place.
The Zoo: Another Skunk is spawned. Note that this is an exception to the rule that only allows one of each creature to exist at a time.
The House of Cards: All players receive a "joker". A joker is a special card that may be used as any valid card. Once a player has declared a joker to be a particular card, it may not be changed.
A Railroad: All players who are connected to the Skunk's current square by a path of railroads will each receive $500 from the Admin Bank Account.
One or more players: The player(s) occupying that square get sprayed by the Skunk, causing them to pass out. Any player who passes out loses 15 health and may not perform any voluntary actions during that update.
The Elephant: The Skunk will spray the elephant, causing the Elephant to go crazy and immediately take 15 of its normal turns.
The Gorilla: The Gorilla will immediately throw a banana peel onto 7 randomly selected squares on the board.
The MTS Bison: The MTS Bison will send the skunk to a randomly selected square on the board, however, the MTS Bison will lose 20 health in the process.
Another Skunk: Both skunks will get into a fight, causing so much violence that both skunks will die.
One final addition: To make it so all creatures have an equal chance of being landed on or losing health, change rule XIX-5 to: "When multiple creatures exist at one time, they will be moved in random order".
- Comments: OK, this rule is great! I can't wait for the board to get overrun by skunks!
- Proposal #31
- Proposed by Silver Car
- Accepted by a vote of 4-1. Modified section 2 of rule XXIV.
add an item available at the house of cards:
A "card remover" may be obtained by trading in any two cards of the same suit. A card remover may be used remove a card from a square. A player may only use a card remover on a square he owns.
- Comments: Well, I guess this does offer somewhat of a solution to other players placing cards on your squares.
