Projects

What is all this crap?

Listed below are various things I spend time hacking on. These are all more or less continuing projects. Note the many-to-one relation between irons and fires.

This Server

I am the sysadmin for the server that hosts these pages, charybdis.ellipsis.cx. This once involved a substantial amount of work because I was learning Linux at the same time; recently this has dropped off, however. With things configured properly, charybdis needs little help from me beyond the application of occasional security patches. More information about charybdis and what it hosts may be found here, here, and here, along with detailed usage statistics.

Recpies

I enjoy cooking, though I do not pretend to be especially skilled at it, and have collected a small database of recipes that I tried and liked. The web interface for it is here. A few of these are my own creations, in particular the white chocolate cheesecake, which I developed during spring 2000 in an attempt to replicate the cheesecake sold at the Campustown Santa Fe Coffehouse in Ames, Iowa.
