Wilted Lettuce
- leaf lettuce
- 1 Tbs chopped onion
- salt
- 2 Tbs vinegar
- 3-4 strips bacon
Put lettuce in heat-resistant bowl (not glass, preferably metal). Add chopped onion. Salt to taste. Sprinkle vinegar over lettuce. Dice bacon and fry to a crisp. Pour hot over lettuce, stir. Lay hot skillet over bowl and flip lettuce against skillet to wilt. Serve immediately.
