What, no Fire Flower? Proposal 87

I don't see why we can't just make Minions/Lairs into Units/Buildings, but just not let players recruit/purchase/build/etc. them. After all, I think it would clear up a whole lot of little issues, such as the fact that since Imps aren't units, you can't damage them with Fire Flowers. It would however take a bit of work in the other direction (basically, phrasing it so that the Dark Lord is some sort of pseudo-player, by whom the Imps and such are owned).
