My next idea... the introduction of weather into the game!
At all times, the game is in exactly one state of weather. Every day at midnight GMT, the game will enter a new state of weather, randomly selected, weighted by the probability of each type of weather. In each state of weather, there are a set of effects that will take place for the duration of that type of weather.
And now for some possible types of weather:
- Sunny (probability 45%)
- Windy (probability 20%)
- The Rber Ducky does not take money away from players
- Rainy (probability 20%)
- All units/buildings have their attack strength reduced by 5%
- Players may not use Fire Flowers
- The Lightning Bolt item has its frequency increased to 10
- Snowy (probability 7%)
- All units/buildings have their attack strength reduced by 15%
- All units have their speed reduced by 15%
- Players may not use Mushrooms or Fire Flowers
- The board becomes slippery, and any time a player jumps (as described in rule XVI), there is a 30% chance that the player will instead end up on a randomly selected square adjacent to the intended jump destination
- Fog (probability 5%)
- All units have their attack strength reduced by 10%
- All units have their speed reduced by 20%
- All units/buildings with range > 1 have their range reduced by 1
- Tornado (probability 2%)
- All units/buildings have their attack strength reduced by 25%
- All units/buildings with range > 1 have their range reduced to 1
- After the Tornado is over, all players are placed on randomly selected squares, and all buildings lose 10% of their hit points
- Hurricane (probability 1%)
- Units/buildings may not attack
- After the Hurricane is over, all buildings lose 25% of their hit points, and each unit has a 5% chance of being killed
Any comments?
