While your analysis seems correct to me as soon as the duck lands on a fort it pretty much will never move again. Since a fort has 1500 hp it would take the duck 150 days to deal that much damage; it would die long before then. But at any rate given that it randomly picks what square to move even if it did move it wouldn't likely wander very far. Frankly though I'm all for other people feeding the duck a warrior just to stop it from moving.
