[first one had an obvious, but fatal typo, sorry folks, it has been retracted :-)] Create a new rule with number 8675309, title "Self-repealing rules do not need to be well-written" and this text: " The Speaker shall, within 3 days of the creation of this rule, send an e-mail to all registered players who did not cast a vote on the proposal that created this rule and ask them if they wish to continue being a registered player. E will also explain to them about the small ruleset and provide URLs e feels are appropriate, and explain that they may be a registered player because they were an elder sometime ago. E may omit sending it to players who have previously notified em that they will be on vacation during that time. All players to whom the e-mail was sent (even if it is not delivered) who do not respond in the affirative within 7 days of the e-mail being sent will be deregistered. Within 3 days of expiration of the 7 day period, the Speaker shall then report the roster of registered players, at which time this rule shall repeal itself. [I don't think we need a general rule for this like in fat acka, but a one time check seems reasonable] "
Create a new rule named "Typos" with the following 1800ABCDEFG-delimited text: 1800ABCDEFG I. If a proposal contains a typographical error which can be unambiguously resolved according to the rules of common English usage, the Speaker shall edit the proposal so that it adheres to the rules of common English usage. The Speaker shall not change the intended sense of the rule. II. If a proposal contains a typographical error which lends itself to two or more possible interpretations different in sense, and a player makes this known to the Speaker, the proposal shall be removed from the queue. The Speaker shall then ask the proposal's owner for the correct interpretation, upon which time the proposal shall be re-entered into the queue as if it were a new proposal. III. Players shall receive no penalty for making errors and no reward for identifying them. 1800ABCDEFG
Ayn player who has not voted on any proposal number 13-52 inclusive is removed from the game as a player.
Destroy all instances of the 'Book of Wmbredd o Gwag'. --------- Create the 'Book of Wmbredd o Gwag' as an element of the game state, with an attribute of 'text' with this as its value: " The King was trying to figure out why his window was open. " --------- Create a new rule entitled "Deciphering the Book of Wmbredd o Gwag" with the following text: " Whenever a Player's Proposal is Rejected, and e has had no other proposal previously Rejected that Week, e is obliged to decipher the next line of Book of Wmbredd o Gwag (Book). Within 3 days of being so obliged, e must post a single sentence of no more than 30 words to be added to the Book. Upon doing to, this text is appended to the text of the Book. Players are permitted to ridicule additions (and their authors) that are non sequitur, and such ridiculed authors receive and hold the title of 'Fuzzy Duck' until someone else receives that title. "
[Since "Wandering Souls" was created, there are some problems with "Souls" -- namely, a player may be able to transfer eir soul to another player, and then specify another. Alternatively, e may not be able to. But this fixes that possible loophole, regardless. That, and it's less bloaty.] This is a core proposal. Amend section I of the rule named "Souls" to the following ----delimited text. --- I. Souls are a class of ownable thingies. Each soul is a unique string that isn't otherwise part of the gamestate. --- Delete sections II and III from the rule named "Souls", replacing them with the following -----delimited text. ---- II. Any player who does not have a soul must create one in eir possession if and only if e has never created a soul. III. A player may own a maximum of four souls. IV. Each player has exactly one vote for each soul e possesses. A player who lacks a soul has one vote. ---- Repeal the rule named "Wandering Souls".
Create a rule with the text: This rule may not be assigned a number or a name. It is neither core nor arm. Neither is it a green mouse.
Integers [All appearances to the contry] This is a Core Proposal. [I note that the only way for the previous sentence to make this a core proposal is if the effects of the proposal are applied, which can only happen if it doesn't modify the core rules, in which case there is no need for it to be a core proposal... not that this aside has anything to do with this proposal.] I. Create a new rule with "A Unique String" as its title and the following unique string as its text: " The Unique String is a unique entity. It is owned at all times by the last player to add an Evil phrase to any rule other than this one. The remainder of this rule defines the Evil phrases and has no other game effect. unique string monotonically increasing positive integers " I. If it exists amend the rule (Leucine, Aspartate) by replacing section one with: " II. There exists a class of items known as Currencies. Each Currency is identified by a unique name. Each Currency also has a unique symbol of four or less characters. " Create a rule called "Possibly Redundant Core Work Around" with the following text: " After it is created this rule amends the rule set in the following ways and then it is repealed: III. Amend the rule (Souls) by replacing 'unique string' with 'name'. IV. Amend section I of the rule (Winner and still champeean) by replacing the sentence 'Rounds are numbered with monotonically increasing positive integers starting with 1.' with the sentence 'Each round is numbered one greater than the previous round.' " V. If it exists amend the rule (Frinks) by replacing the final occurrence of "thirsty" with "firsty".
This is a Core Proposal. [but only if it isn't] Create a new rule with the text: " This rule shall amend the rule (Core and Arm) by amending section II to read: ' II. Core Proposals There is a subtype of Proposal called a Core Proposal, which is created in the usual manner except that it must start with a phrase announcing the fact. Only Core Proposals may create, modify, renumber an Arm rule into, or repeal a Core Rule. If a Non-Core Proposal submitted after this rule is enacted attempts to modify, create, renumber an Arm rule into, or repeal a Core Rule, that proposal has none of its changes applied if it is Accepted. ' and make all proposals currently in the proposal queue which declare themselves to be Core Proposals into Core Proposals [just in case] and then repeal itself. "
This is a Core Proposal. [but only if it isn't] Amend the rule (Souls) by appending the following as an appropriately numbered new section: " Life After Death 30 days after a player has left the game eir soul is transferred Somewhere Else. When a person rejoins, the soul created by em when they were last a player is transferred into eir possession. "
Create a new rule with the title "They Might Be Slumbering Giants" and the text: " They Might Be Slumbering Giants (TMBSG) is a unique entity. Souls may be members of TMBSG as may other entities, however, only players who's souls are already members may be members of They Might Be Slumbering Giants. A player who's soul is a member of TMBSG is also a member of TMBSG. The membership of TMBSG may only be manipulated by a rule which specifically provides for such a manipulation. Within the first fortnight after a person has left the game of Ackanomic, their soul may be nominated once, by any player. Each Player may then publicly second the nomination. If after a week, the number of players who have seconded the nomination is greater than half the number of players, the soul becomes a Putative Slumbering Giant. After a soul has been a Putative Slumbering Giant for thirty days it is made a member of They Might Be Slumbering Giants. A soul which is a Putative Slumbering Giant loses that distinction when the player with a right to it rejoins. Players who are members of They Might Be Slumbering Giants may claim either the title of Slumber Giant or Elder as thier whim dictates. " The following souls (created pointing to the relevant person, if necessary) become members of They Might Be Slumbering Giants: " Alfvaen Balsamic Dragon Bascule breadbox Brinjal Chaos mr cwm else...if Guy Fawkes IdiotBoy Niccolo Flychuck this is not a name Ballot Stuffer Malenkai Mr. Lunatic Fringe Voting Gnome Wayne " Create a new rule with the title "Grandfathered Disappointments" with the text: " Any player who has left the Game of Ackanomic since Fri, 24 Sep 1999 23:14:12 is eligible to be nominated according to the rule "The Might Be Slumbering Giants" with all effect that flow therefrom. This rule repeals itself a fortnight after it is created. "
Create a new rule called "Burn the Witch!" with the following text: " The Microsoft Windows family of operating systems are, in general, better than Unix-like operating systems, and contradiction of this fact is heresy. Any proven heretic shall be burned at the stake, and their Soul shall be transported Somewhere Else, unless they are the Fuzzy Duck. "
Create a new rule called "Anonymous Proposals" with the following text: " The player(s) responsible for managing Proposals shall not reveal Proposals' authors until after they have been removed from the Queue, with the exception that the preceeding does not apply to their own Proposals. "
Create a new rule called "Waffles" with the following text: " I. Menu A Waffle is a square consisting of N by N little nooks. Each nook is either contains a dollop of grade A butter, a drop of fine Vermont maple syrup, or is empty. II. Playing With Food For each accepted Proposal, the player who authored it has the right to play with their food; this right expires when it has been exercised, or three days after the results of the accepted Proposal have been reported, whichever comes first. A player plays with their food by publicly and unambiguously specifying one of the following 3 operations on an extant Waffle (which occur at the time of specification): a) Add a dollop of butter to an empty nook. b) Add a drop of syrup to an empty nook. c) Increase the size of a Waffle to an N+1 by N+1 square (new empty nooks are added on the top and the right). Unless otherwise specified, columns are numbered from left to right starting a 0, while rows are numbered from bottom to top starting at 0. III. Waffles are Fattening Whenever a player adds either syrup or butter such that the condiment they added occupies all the nooks of a particular row, column, or diagonal corner to corner, they eat the Waffle; upon doing so they gain, in Points, the number of nooks the Waffle has divided by two (with fractions rounded up to the next higher integer). That Waffle is then destroyed. IV. Waiter! Whenever no Waffles exist, a 4 by 4 Waffle named Buttermilk with all empty nooks is created. "
This is a Core Proposal. Destroy any thingee whose name would conflict with a name used in this proposal. Create a rule called "The Golden Rule" with the following text: " The Mithril Grapefruit is the center of this nomic. Around the Mithril Grapefruit are an infinite number of concentric spheres, each contained inside the next; these are the Spheres. No two Spheres are congruent. Every element of the Ackanomic game state is on one of these spheres, called its local sphere. A Sphere is always on itself. The innermost Sphere is the Imperial Sphere. A rule always takes priority over rules on Spheres outside of its local Sphere while deferring to rules on Spheres inside its local Sphere. This nomic may only be changed in accordance with the rules. The next Sphere beyond this rule's local sphere is the Kernel Sphere. II) Create a new rule on the same Sphere as this rule named "Who is the Emperor?" with the following text: " The Emperor may create, destroy, or modify elements on this Sphere at eir whim, via a public message. No proposal may modify the Imperial Sphere. " III) Create a new rule on the same Sphere as this rule named "History Anyone?" with the following text: " Vulcan (/dev/joe, Malenkai, ThinMan, and Vynd) once ruled Ackanomic. K2 once ruled Ackanomic. JT, Studge, and Emperor Ai!Pedrito! once ruled Ackanomic. " IV) Move the proposal which created this rule into the Imperial Sphere, number this rule I1, then delete sections II, III, and IV from this rule. " Place a rule numbered K1 on the Kernel Sphere called "More Sphere Stuff" with the following text: " The next Sphere outside of the Sphere this is on is the Structural Sphere. Everything in this nomic, also known as Ackanomic, is an element. This includes rules. New rules are created on the Structural Sphere unless otherwise specified. An element e is inside another element f if the local sphere of e is inside the local sphere of f, and outside f if the local sphere of e is outside the local sphere of f. If there is an element e on local sphere p, then any element on p or on a sphere inside of p Supercedes e. If element e is inside element f then f may only manipulate element e if a rule which Supercedes e explicitly permits the manipulation. An element may not move to a sphere unless a rule which Supercedes that sphere explicitly permits it. No element which would be referred to by any rule which supercedes Sphere S may be created on S unless rules which supercede that rule explicitly permit it. No property defined by a rule that supercedes Sphere S may be assigned by an element on Sphere S unless the rules that supercede S explicitly permit it. " Create a rule in the Kernel Sphere numbered K6 and named "Kernel Changing" with the following text: " In order to make a change to the Kernel, a proposal must begin with the sentence "This is a Kernel Proposal", or a reasonable approximation ("This is a Core Proposals" is a reasonable approximation), and at least two Yes votes must have been cast on it for each No vote. If these conditions are met then that proposal may be transferred to the Kernel. " Move parts I, II, III, IX of rule 1 onto the Kernel as rules K2 through K5 respectively. Place a rule on the Structural Sphere called "More Spheres" with the following text: " The Spheres immediately outside of this rule's local Sphere, in order from immediately outside this Sphere to farther outside are: Living Champion Games and Puzzles Fantasy Harfy " Move parts IV, V, X, XI of rule 1 and rules 2, 3, 15, 17, 51, 52, 53, 171, and 172 onto the Structural Sphere. The parts of rule 1 should be numbered S1, S2, S3, and S4 respectively. The other rules in the Structural Sphere should be numbered S12, S13, S15, S27, S51, S52, S53, S141, and S142 respectively. Repeal rule 5. Move all rules which are not on a Sphere to SX, where X is their rule number plus 150. After the first sentence of rule S4, add "When the Speaker assigns a rule number, it must be for the Sphere which the rule is on." Create rule S5, "Rule Numbers", reading "A rule number consists of a a string of text followed by an integer. The text is the name of the Sphere the rule is on, and may be abbreviated to the first letter of that text if it is unambiguous. There may only be one rule with each integer in each Sphere." Create rule S10, "Proposals" with the following text: " I. Proposals A Proposal is a list of proposed changes to the Game State. Any Player may make a Proposal in the Living Sphere by e-mailing its text to the Speaker (or to a bot designated by the Speaker). Within 3 days of receipt of a Proposal, the Speaker (or eir bot) shall assign an integer number to the Proposal and send its text in a Public Message, at which time the Proposal is said to be in the Proposal Queue (Queue). II. Voting on Proposals All Players may vote either Yes or No for any Proposal in the Queue which is on their Sphere or farther out by e-mailing eir vote to the Speaker (or to a bot designated by the Speaker). If a Player votes more than once on a particular Proposal, all but their most recent vote on that Proposal are disregarded. III. Accepting Proposals Upon a Proposal having been in the Queue for exactly 7 days, it is either Accepted or Rejected and it is removed from the Queue. At that time, the Proposal is Accepted if and only if a majority of the votes cast on it were Yes, and the Player who authored it did not vote No. The Speaker (or eir bot) shall report in a Public Message the status of any Accepted Proposal within 3 days of it becoming Accepted; at that time the Proposal is moved onto the Structural Sphere and activated. IV. Activated Proposals When a Proposal is activated, it is checked against each sphere to which it attempts to make changes. It must meet all conditions specified for those spheres in order to make changes to them; if it fails the conditions of any sphere it attempts to change then it is null and has no effect. If no conditions are specified for a Sphere then the conditions for the Sphere inside of it apply. If it meets all such conditions, the proposal is transferred to the innermost Sphere it changes and its instructions are performed in order. If a proposal creates a rule without specifying where then it is treated as if the Structural Sphere was specified; if the proposal creates non-rule elements without specifying where then the Living Sphere is assumed. Players are strongly encouraged to place all changes to a single Sphere together in eir proposals and to clearly mark them. V. Outer Sphere Changes Any activated proposal may change the Structural Sphere. " Move parts I, II, and V of rule 4 to rules S201, S202 and S204, respectively. Move part IV of that rule to C1. Create rule S203, "Winning Rules" with the text "At any time there is exactly one and only one way to win the Current Round. This method is defined solely by rule C1." Create rule S205, "Changing the Winning Rule", with the following text: " Move all Players, proposals, and thingees onto the Living Sphere. When a Player becomes Champion, e may within 7 days specify a new method for winning the current round. If within 7 days after such specification more than 1/2 of the current Players have approved the specification, then the new method replaces rule C1 exactly as it was specified. If less than 1/2 of the current Players approve the specification or if the Champion fails to make a specification in time, rule C1 is unchanged. " ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [games and puzzles and treasures] III. Create a new rule [on the Rule Sphere] with the title "The Games and Puzzles Sphere" and the text: " Players may create rules on the Games and Puzzles Sphere by publicly posting their text; the rule is created 3 days after such a post if and only if fewer than 3 players publicly objected during the 3 day period. " ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [FRP] IV. Create a new rule [on the Rule Sphere] with the title "The Fantasy Sphere" and the text: " Whenever a player accurately points out that no player is the Dungeon Master, the player pointing this out becomes the Dungeon Master. The Dungeon Master may create, destroy, or modify elements on the Fantasy Sphere at eir whim, via a public message; e may also grant, revoke, or grant this privilege in a limited way to others at eir whim, via a public message. " ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [:-)] V. Create a new rule [on the Rule Sphere] with the title "The Harfy Sphere" and the text: " Players may create, destroy, modify, or renew elements on the Harfy Sphere at their whim, via a public message. Any element on the Harfy Sphere that is unrenewed or unmodified for a period of 90 consecutive days is destroyed. "
Amend every rule named "Winner and still champeean" to replace every occurrance, in section II, of the text "is 1", with "is 38".
Amend the rule titled "Core and Arm" to add the following to the end of section II: " A proposal is a core proposal if and only if words to that effect appear as its first line. "
Create a new rule with the following COLT$%-delimited text: COLT$% A Chompsky proposal is a Proposal, the number of which is a power of two (base-ten). Examples of Chompsky Proposals include: Proposal 1, Proposal 2, Proposal 4, et. al. If a Chompsky Proposal is accepted the Owner of that Proposal shall gain the Title of "Smooth Operator" and all of the rights and privileges granted thereby. At that time, any other players possessing the Title of "Smooth Operator" shall be stripped of the Title. COLT$% Adjust the gamestate such that the Owner of the Soul known as K2 is given the Title of "Smooth Operator."
If proposal 64 has been enacted replace the string "1-X" by "S3" in this proposal. Destroy any thingy whose name would conflict with a name used in this proposal. Create a new rule with the following ...-delimited text. If a structural sphere exists, move that rule onto the structural sphere. [just in case an obscure loophole would make it harfyish.] ... In order to authenticate emself, a player must electronically sign eir official messages using the PGP standard. For this purpose, e is required to send eir public key to the the owner of The Speaker's Bowler. This key becomes a part of the game state. Every message which is not signed by the player will not be considered as a e-mail message as defined in rule 1-X. ... [I think that authentication is necessary in a game that is only played by email. Even if it is a terrible bad move when you fake someone else's messages, I don't even want to give it a chance.] [N.B.: The message containing the key will also have to be signed.]
Create a new rule titled "Antivoting" with the following text: When the results of the voting on a proposal are reported, each player who voted "Yes" on that proposal gains a point if the proposal was rejected, and each player who voted "No" on that proposal gains a point if the proposal was accepted.
Award two points to each player who voted yes to this proposal for each other player who voted yes to it. Award three points to each player who voted no on this proposal for each player who voted yes to it, and one other point for each other player who voted no to it.
This Proposal conflicts with Proposal 64. [in the odd event that 64, ie the big spheres prop, doesn't go through, it would be nice to be able to have sub-games and such. This seems a nice way is almost minimal overhead.] Create a new rule entitled "Phantazy" with the following ???-delimited text. ??? I. There exists a sub-type of rules known as Fantasy Rules. Any player may enact, amend, or repeal a Fantasy Rule by declaring so in a public message. II. Fantasy Rules may not take precedence over non-Fantasy Rules. They may not regulate, change, or otherwise affect anything defined or regulated in non-fantasy rules or proposals in the queue. [This includes the enactment, amendment, and repeal of fantasy rules, btw.] ???
This is a Kernel proposal, and it depends on proposal 64. All Quarantined rules cease to be Quarantined. Create a new rule on the Kernel Sphere, named "Quarantine", numbered with the least positive integer number not yet used for a Kernel rule, and with the following TYPHOID-delimited text: TYPHOID 1. Becoming Quarantined Whenever a new rule is created it is initially quarantined. Whenever a rule is amended it becomes quarantined as part of the amendment. Rules never become Quarantined under any other circumstances. 2. Rogues A Proposal or Quarantined rule X refers only to elements of the game state that are in one or more of the following groups: a) elements for which X specifies a local sphere or a group of Spheres b) elements that supercede X c) elements referred to by non-quarantined rules that supercede X d) elements newly created by X after becoming activated (if X is a proposal) or Quarantined (if X is a rule) e) if X became quarantined by being amended then elements to which X referred before that amendment Elements of the game state not in one of those groups to which X otherwise appears to refer are Rogues with respect to X. No element of the game state is a Rogue with respect to any rule except as described in this rule. 3. Dispatching Rogues One picosecond after a rule becomes Quarantined or after a new Quarantined rule is created, all Rogues with respect to that rule are destroyed and that rule ceases to be quarantined. TYPHOID
[ Gist: Players may literally sell their soul to The Devil in exchange for support on their Proposals. Those who attempt to take advantage of being soulless are punished horribly: they go to Texas. (I chose Texas in favor of more traditional places of punishment such as New Jersey, Ohio, or Belgium (pardon my French) -- or the obvious Georgia -- because the original game of Ackanomic was born there.) Players being tormented in Texas can be rescued by someone else going to Texas to either a) donate a soul to the tormented player (in which case the rescuer is also trapped) or b) challenge the Devil to a fiddling contest. If you're shaking your head in disbelief right now, I've done my job. :-) If you have no idea where I come up with this stuff, you're missing out on a great song. ] Standard Disclaimer: Destroy Texas. Destroy The Devil. Destroy all Fiddles Made of Solid Gold. Anyone who attempts to take advantage of any loopholes I missed is shot without trial. Create a Rule numbered 66, called "Armadillo Country" with the following DYNASTY-delimited text: DYNASTY Ancient tomes of evil speak of a location called Texas. There is a one-way trapdoor leading from the Aluminum Cave straight down to Texas. Unfortunately, this trapdoor is not connected to Ackanomic's ventilation system, so Texas gets rather hot and stuffy at times. Thus, any player in Texas must include the words "Can somebody turn up the A/C in here?" or something to that effect, in every public message they send, or they will lose 2 points from asphyxiation. DYNASTY Create a Rule numbered 666, called "Number of the Beast" with the following EEEEEEVIL-delimited text: EEEEEEVIL There exists a unique thingie called The Devil. The Devil owns a soul named "Lucifer" and resides in Texas. The Devil is entitled to vote on Proposals as if he were a player, but he is rather snippy about it and will only do so as described in this Rule. If a Proposal includes text to the effect of "I'd sell my soul for a <X> right about now," where <X> is a type of vote which is legal to cast on Proposals, The Devil will cast one vote on that Proposal equal to <X> for each soul he owns. However, deals with The Devil do not come cheap. Any time he votes on a Proposal as described above, he will take possession of one of its author's souls, determined randomly. If the author has no souls for the Devil to take, the author will be moved to Texas and become a Wraith. Wraiths may not vote on Proposals, change location, or indeed take any game action besides voting during a fiddling contest or accepting a soul from another player who in Texas. However, should a Wraith ever gain a soul, or be moved to a location other than Texas, he will immediately cease being a Wraith. Players are encouraged to be silly and substitute other things, such as "donut," for the <X> in their Proposal, in which case the Devil will indeed create one of those things in the Player's possession in exchange for the Player's soul, as long as the thing described is not Rule-defined. In this case, if the Player has no souls for The Devil to take, no further punishment will be given. EEEEEEVIL Create a Rule numbered 667, called "Across the Street from the Beast" with the following JELLO-delimited text: JELLO Any non-Wraith player in Texas may challenge the Devil to a fiddling contest. To do this, he must post an original lyrical composition to a public forum. This can be of any form: a poem, a song, or even free verse (although the latter is frowned upon, as it gives The Devil a significant advantage.) Within three days, the Speaker (or, if the Speaker is the fiddling player, the player nearest the end of an alphabetical ordering of all players with no soul) shall post a composition on The Devil's behalf. This does not have to be original, as The Devil dabbles in plagiarism as well as all other sins. After both compositions have been posted, players have three days to vote publicly on which they feel has more artistic merit, especially as regards fiddling. The fiddling player may not vote in this contest, but the player who posted The Devil's composition may. (The Devil, however, may not.) If more players vote for the fiddling player's composition, then he will beat The Devil. Should he be so lucky, all players in Texas will be moved to the Aluminum Cave, and the player who bested The Devil will get one soul of his choice from The Devil's stock (except that The Devil will not give up Lucifer unless it is his last soul) and The Fiddle Made of Solid Gold, which is a unique thingie. However, if more players vote for The Devil's composition, then The Devil wins. In this case, if the fiddling player has no souls, he becomes a Wraith. Otherwise, he forfeits a soul at random to The Devil and is transported to the Aluminum Cave. In the case of a tie in the number of votes, the victory goes to the fiddling player; if no composition is posted on The Devil's behalf within three days, the contest is considered a draw and the player must attempt again (he can use the same composition if he likes). JELLO
[Base vote is 2, minimum vote is 1, maximum vote is 4. Souls return to eir creator when the extra vote is used.] Replace section IV of Rule 53 (Wandering Souls) with: " IV. Souls are permitted to vote on proposals. A soul votes as directed by its owner using the usual methods for voting. V. At the end of the voting period if the vote cast by a soul is different from that cast by its creator, or its creator abstained, then the soul is returned to its creator if e is a player, otherwise it is destroyed. "
This is a Core Proposal. Amend section II of Rule 15 (Souls) to read in full: " II. When a non-player becomes a player e must specify eir soul, unless a soul created by em still exists. It is not possible to choose a soul that appears somewhere in the current rules or any of the current proposal's title or text. " If a player has created more than one soul, those additional souls are destroyed.
Amend the rule titled "Antivoting" to replace its text with this ECTGHWNYJCVAQWYKUJHQT delimited text: ECTGHWNYJCVAQWYKUJHQT When the results of the voting on a proposal are reported, each player who voted "Yes" on that proposal gains trunc(V/Y + 0.5) points if the proposal was rejected, and each player who voted "No" on that proposal gains trunc(V/N + 0.5) points if the proposal was accepted, where V is the number of votes cast on that proposal, Y is the number of "Yes" votes cast on it, and N is the number of "No" votes cast on it. ECTGHWNYJCVAQWYKUJHQT
Create rule S16, "Anti-Souls". Give it the following COUNTERPOINT delimited text: COUNTERPOINT I. Anti-Souls are a class of ownable thingies. Each anti-soul corrosponds to a soul. II. Whenever there is a soul which has no anti-soul associated with it, a corresponding anti-soul is created in the posession of a random player. III. A player may Unvote on a proposal by e-mailing the Speaker with the name of an anti-soul e owns. Immediately before votes are tallied on that proposal, the vote of the soul associated with that anti-soul is reversed, and the anti-soul is destroyed. If the proposal leaves the queue for any other reason, the anti-soul is destroyed. COUNTERPOINT
Amend Rule S215 by removing the ultimate sentence, which currently reads as: "Points may not be traded."
Append the complete text of rule S221, "Armadillo Country" to rule Rule S141, "Graph it, Graph it good!" Repeal Rule S221. Repeal Rule S204, if it exists. [S204 is the same as C1, but C1 has the authority]
Amend Rule S52 by replaicng the following SILLY-delimited text with the following GOOFY delimited text. SILLY The official time zone of Ackanomic ("Acka Time") is Greenwich Mean Time. SILLY GOOFY The official time of Ackanomic ("Acka Time") is the same as the time in New York City, New York, USA. GOOFY
Replace the last sentence of Rule S201 with the following CORRECT-delimited text. CORRECT Whenever a new Round begins, the number in the first sentence of Rule S202 is replaced with the next successive number. CORRECT
Create a new rule in the Structural Sphere entitled "Call For Proposals" with the following text: " If there are no proposals in the queue then the Speaker may issue a Call For Proposals. One week after the Call For Proposals is issued, each player who owns more souls than proposals e made since the Call For Proposals was issued loses souls at random until e has as many souls as proposals e made since the CFP was issued. All lost souls are transferred to the Devil. "
Insert the following "-delimited text as a section between sections III and IV of Rule S210, and renumber the sections accordingly: " IV. The Owner of the Bi-Polar Disorder is known as the Harfmeister. The Harfmeister has the right to declare proposals harfy, except that only three proposals currently under voting consideration may ever be harfy. When a proposal passes, the Bi-Polar Disorder is automatically transferred to the proposal's owner. It is a responsibility of the speaker's bowler to own the Bi-Polar Disorder whenever it would otherwise be unowned. " The largest prime number of points which is less than the number of points this this proposal's owner would receive for its acceptance, is transferred from the owner of this proposal to the player who created the soul called IdiotBoy.

The rest of this proposal's text is made into a new rule. When a proposal is accepted its owner gains 10 points less the number of proposals currently in their voting period. When a proposal is rejected its owner loses 10 points less the number of proposals currently in their voting period.

Create a new rule on the structural sphere with the following BLARGH delimited text. BLARGH category: Rules about Rules All rules in the structural or outer spheres may include as eir first line "category: <NAME>", where <NAME> is any semi-descriptive category envlosed in quote marks and terminating at the line's end. This line has no bearing on the game, and may be changed, added, or removed by the Speaker at eir whim by a public message. Players are encouraged to use pre-defined categories whenever appropriate. BLARGH Note that the use of categories is optional. It is hoped that they will be used to allow a bot to auto-sort messages into groups prior to the possible establishment of a flexible/scalable numbering scheme. The basic effect of this rule would be to make lines beginning with "category:" have no effect on the game (and be changable by the Speaker).
Create a new rule with the following text, having the same title as the proposal which created it: All players are either "They Might Be Giants" fans, or "Hanson" fans. Only those who have voted in the past 30 days are the former. Players must wear the proper tee shirt when sides are picked for kickball.

Retitle S1 "Players" and make it read as follows: " Players are a class of elements. When created, a player is in the Living Sphere. A player may move to the Living Sphere or any named Sphere outside the Living Sphere by sending a message to that effect. A player outside the Living Sphere is known as being "on vacation". Note that such players cannot make proposals or vote, since these require influencing entities on the Living Sphere. "

Create a rule named "Favors" with the following text: " Favors are ownable thingees. Each favor is associated with a player. If a favor is owned by the player with whom it is associated, it is immediately destroyed. Any player may create a favor associated with emself in the Living sphere by sending a public message to that effect; e must also specify in whose possession the favor is created. A player may cash a favor by sending a public message to that effect; this destroys the favor. When cashing a favor, e may (optionally) specify one of the following events, which then occurs: 1) The player associated with the favor is compelled to vote a specified way on a given proposal. This may only be done once to each player on any given proposal; and subsequent favors cashed which would compel that player to vote differently are just destroyed. 2) Destroy a named favor in the possession of the associated player. 3) Counter the effect of a favor used within the preceding three days by the associated player. Note that favors can be cashed in exchange for things not specified by the rules; although it is not required, it is dishonorable for a player to refuse to do so if the request is reasonable. "
make another rule consisting of the text of this proposal, without this sentence. when the speaker announces the particulars of a voting bot that implements the scheme described below in curly braces, this rule is replaced by the text in (but not including) the braces. until then, the text in braces is not yet "live". this rule is repealed 99-12-31 at noon. { When they vote, players may attempt to guess who the author of the Proposal they are voting on is, unless the player, by any means, knows with certainty who the author is already. Guesses associated with votes that end up not counting have no effect. When a Proposal's voting results are reported, each player who correctly guessed the author gains 1 point. If no one guessed correctly, the author gains one point for each attempted guess. }
